When were the postal codes introduced? Existed predecessors to the current system?
Was the codes changed after the end of the Soviet Union?
- If not: Are the codes of the non-russian parts re-used?
When was these funny machine-readable numbers are invented?

Postal codes in areas of Ukraine under Russian administration
