"Some of the setting and story was affected by Richard Wagner's opera Die Walküre." This is not good English eiher. It is true that the score is melodically similar to the Ride of the Valkyries, and we see Ponyo, whose real name is Brunhilde (the lead Valkyrie in Nibelungen) ride the wish/waves. Disruptive editing.

Somebody keeps disruptivly editing the page to say that Lily Tomlin's character was Kumiko. According to the Japanese Wikipedia page which has better information, Kumiko is the character who Sosuke goes to Kindergarten with. That is not "disruptive editing", anonymous editor, I'm merely asking you to support your changes to the cast list with a reliable source. IMDb, which the cast list is now citing, is not a reliable source. Unless you can find a source that supports the information, I'd ask that you revert your changes and avoid edit-warring with me over them. FYI, the end credits of the film explicitly show that Kimiko is voiced/dubbed by Jennessa Rose and Toki by Lily Tomlin. Cloris Leachman is credited for Noriko, not "Kayo". ภץאคгöร 15:57, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Huh, that's odd, since the official Disney website that the section was previously referencing seems to have gotten it wrong then. I asked a friend who owns a copy of the dub, and that checks out. Since IMDb is not an acceptable citation, I've changed it to simply reference the film itself for now. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 16:18, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I just fixed the page since I just rewatched the credits (which is what I based my edit on).
