Aurunci

[edit]

According to the Aurunci article, the Aurunci (an Italic tribe related to the Osci, Umbri, Latini, etc.) allied with this city, but this article doesn't mention that at all. The article about the Osci also says that "Pometia" (Latin name of Pomezia) "rebelled against Roman authority". Livy says in his "From the Founding of the City" (Book 2, 16) that Pometia rebelled and that "the whole war was centered round Pometia". Should it therefore be added to the history section? πr2 (tc) 16:29, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Or is Suessa Pometia different from modern "Pomezia"? πr2 (tc) 16:45, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's hardly a reliable source, but the Latin Wikipedia has la:Suessa Pometia as a redirect to la:Pometia. The German Wikipedia says "Der Name Pomezia leitet sich von der antiken Stadt Suessa Pometia her, die nach Plinius zu Beginn des 4. Jahrhunderts v. Chr. von den Volskern zerstört wurde. Diese gab auch der Tribus Pomptina den Namen. Es ist nicht gesichert ob Suessa Pometia tatsächlich im Gemeindegebiet lag." (you can translate using Google Translate). Maybe this should at least be mentioned? Waiting for comments. πr2 (tc) 16:55, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
