Parasitic?

[edit]

Is this a parasitic plant? The photo shows a sycamore tree covered with them. --98.232.180.37 (talk) 03:00, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lime tolerant?

[edit]

The article says "It prefers chalky soils and rarely tolerates lime"; this is surely contradictory? RichardRussell (talk) 20:54, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article was (mis)translated from French Wikipedia which says "Le polypode commun préfère les milieux siliceux et rarement calcaires." i.e. sandy environments, not chalky. My Flora of the British Isles doesn't confirm that preference. William Avery (talk) 21:15, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Medicinal use

[edit]

I know the root is used in traditional medicine. Why am I having so much trouble finding it for sale anywhere? --Iustinus (talk) 00:59, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
