Bridge Commission

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission could not have purchased this bridge from the former private bridge company in 1919 because the Bridge Commission was not established until 1934. The bridge was purchased by the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Accordingly, the states still hold title to the properties formerly owned by the bridge company.
