I am not an expert in this topic but I think it is incorrect to infer that all Poa's are Meadow-grasses. I really like poa plaants and I know a bit about them and a bit I will tell. Poa plants are very common backyard plants in asia and north america.Poa is a cool plant really look it up at the libraray and learn some good.
Poa plants are one of the more unusaul plant life forms. Do ya like um? Well, gee, I'd get one! So you go ahead and plant some poa.
Plant it? I can't get any onther type of grass to grow in my yard. We in Massachusetts call it crabgrass because no matter what other type of grass you plant it pops up here and there within your lawn.
POA is also an abbreviation for Piece of Ass
POA also stands for Power of Attorney, Portable Object Adapter, etc. A disambiguation page may be helpful.

[edit]Why is it called Bluegrass since all the photos I've seen of it are green?
- I'm guessing it produces blue flowers? Drutt 00:57, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
I earlier posted the bit about why it's called bluegrass. As luck had it I ran into some flowering bluegrass today in a swampy shaded area next to a golf course. I think it's Poa trivialis. The trivialis article incidentally has a good photo showing a tinge of blue in the grass seeds. Any help in identification would be appreciated. Americasroof 21:35, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
