1980s and OR

[edit]

I have just reeverted deletion of this:

In the late 1980s, pneumatic line throwers were invented due to the need for a product which is intrinsically safe, cost effective, and has long delivery distances.

The sentence was deleted as OR. It seems to me to be a reasonable summary of what is in the article. The previous para already establishes that pyrotechnic line throwers are dangerous (undoubtedly true) and the article claims pneumatic line throwers replaced the Rescue Rocket in 1989. Now that claim is unreferenced, but if it is going to stay it is reasonable the lead summarises it. I found this claim by ResTech in Nordic-Baltic-U.S. Almanac that they invented the pneumatic line thrower and began production in 1989. Not exactly an independent source, but it does back up the article. The only thing I would say is "intrinsically safe" is a bit of an exageration, you wouldn't think that if you got one in the face.
