- Those uses are usually not what is meant by "playing God" -- the "playing" tends to connote someone acting arrogantly, which rarely coincides with God-like compassion or charity. -- Antaeus Feldspar 23:14, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
What is the origin of the phrase "playing God" (or "to play God")?
[edit]Who first coined the phrase, and in what source? The Playing God (ethics) article currently implies, but doesn't specifically declare, that the phrase may have appeared in the film Frankenstein.
