This article is all about the heritage side of plastering, with no mention of how the trade operates today.

I agree, this only talks about old fashioned plstering. Very unhelpful for students researching plastering tools. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teifion (talkcontribs) 15:55, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hair I have put back the statement about not to clean hair because this practice has led to widespread failure in the UK. If the lanolin is washed out through cleaning, the hair has lost its protection against the aggresive action of the alkaline. cleaned hair has been shown to myself and others to totaly degrade within 18 months of application. I made it clear that the research is not published, however you can try it for yourself. If you are in the UK you might know Douglas Johnson of Scottish Limes, he tested cleaned hair 12 years ago and concluded total degradation. What are your thoughts?--Ironimp (talk) 17:36, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I work in a huge home improvement store, and I frequently talk to customers with pre-drywall houses, using plaster on lath construction. I had always dismissed it ("Tear it out and replace it with drywall") but I know better now. I thank the author for this article; I learned more about plaster on lath than I have ever known. Yes, the article is too technical for the general public - but so is the article on Fourier Series. So there's that. Let's not dumb down Wikipedia. The Underpaid Engineer has spoken. Duplication

[edit]

This article is contains mostly material which duplicates Plasterwork. A merger to there would be appropriate if the articles contain the same information. Edison (talk) 17:13, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
