Article title
[edit]My feeling is that the article's title should be changed to something like Abduction of Piotr Stańczak or Murder of Piotr Stańczak. With the present title the article appears to be a biographical article (which is not what it really is), and somebody can easily nominate it for deletion on WP:BIO1E grounds. Any opinions? Requested move

The result of the proposal was move to Murder of Piotr Stańczak. Per below, his death, rather than his abduction, is the event to which his notability is most closely connected.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:08, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Piotr Stańczak → Abduction of Piotr Stańczak — Like I noted above, this is a WP:BIO1E case where the only coverage of the subject is in connection with his abduction and murder. Accordingly, the article title should the underlying event rather than the name of the person in question. I would have moved the page myself since nobody has objected to the above suggestion from Dec 7, but the move button is disabled for this article; I assume the article may have been move protected at some point for some reason. —Nsk92 (talk) 18:00, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
- Support proposed title or Murder of Piotr Stańczak. Unfortunately, the subject was only notable because of his abduction and, even more so, his death. — AjaxSmack 21:12, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
- I suggested Abduction of Piotr Stańczak but I am also OK with moving the name to Murder of Piotr Stańczak instead. Nsk92 (talk) 21:55, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
- Support assuming that Mr. Stanczak was not already notable before his abduction as a scientist. This article should be about his unfortunate end, not about a person who is not otherwise notable. I prefer "abduction", as I don't find "murder" an especially fitting term for an act of terrorism. Ucucha 12:38, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not choosy about the exact word, but it was his death and not his abduction that made him Wikinotable. Note that six of the articles categories are about death and none are about abduction. — AjaxSmack 15:04, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
