Why another census?

Why did the tribe of Simeon lose so many people between the two censuses?

Who was Zelophehad?
Babylonian Talmud Shabbat 96b.
Why does the designation of Joshua follow the incident of the daughters of Zelophehad?
Numbers Rabbah 21:14.
On which Festival were the most animals sacrificed?
Why does the Torah require the Israelites to sacrifice 70 bulls on Sukkot and one bull on Shemini Atzeret?

Link Farm
[edit]This article is hard to read and to edit because of the large number of external links. Not every noted passage requires a link. Those who want to read the passage in question can find an online book or open their own book. I came to this page to find a broken link and fix it, but cannot because of the extensive over linking present. This does not conform to WP:NOTLINK. I appreciate your help in fixing the problem. Thanks, 134.29.231.11 (talk) 20:57, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
