Director's Cut

[edit]

Okay, we have an issue. I have the Glee S1 DVDs, where the Pilot is supposedly the Director's Cut. I have seen an .avi file of the Director's Cut. And I've seen what I take to be the aired pilot, because it sure as heck isn't anything else.

All three are radically different. The 'aired' pilot starts off with the Cheerios forming a 'pyramid'? and Sue shouting about waterboarding. The .avi file starts in 1993, with Lillian Adler and the Glee Club that took Nationals and a guy who is supposed to be William Schuester. The DVD starts in another place entirely.

But ALL three contain the acoustic 'Leaving On A Jet Plane'. Hence I shall edit it. --121.216.154.165 (talk) 08:09, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's possible that one of the three you've seen was the fully uncut screener copy, which is often labelled the director's cut online. I'm fairly confident that "Leaving on a Jet Plane" wasn't in the episode as it originally aired in May 09 - indeed, the iTunes store has both the Pilot and Pilot DC, and in the description of the latter notes "catch a rare performance of "Leavin' on a Jet Plane" not seen in the original pilot!"
