I don't know, I thought that they came from the West Midlands Cjdkoh (talk) 20:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This was mistakenly put on the page itself, so I moved it here:

Pikelets are NOT crumpets. Nor are they Scotch pancakes.

Pikelet - also known as a Pikelet?

[edit]

Why does it mention on the Pikelet page that a pikelet is also known as a "pikelet" in Britian?

Isn't that like saying "A dog is also known as..... a dog"?

"Pikelet may refer to: A small, thick pancake, generally in Australia, New Zealand and parts of Britain. Also known in parts of the United Kingdom as a Pikelet." Frognsausage (talk) 08:49, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clarify what is meant by Scooter.

[edit]

"Pikelet, a North Staffordshire delicacy. A thicker form of oatcake with raisins added. Traditionally enjoyed on a scooter."

I'm not certain what is meant by 'scooter' here, it would seem strange for a type of food to be traditionally be eaten on a 2 wheeled motorised vehicle. Given that 'Pikelet' is a word almost exclusively used in a colloquial context there is a strong possibility that, in this case, 'scooter' might mean something else. Can someone include a link or source to clarify what is meant? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.18.225.5 (talk) 13:55, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The purpose of this page is unclear

The article should be edited to clearly indicate that this is a disambiguation page BiliousBob (talk) 11:20, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pikelets

[edit]

For people from Australia and NZ pikelets are not pancakes they are two different things. Whilst it may just be a small pancake they are considered 2 different things. Pikelets are eaten at morning or afternoon tea or high tea whereas pancakes are a breakfast or desert. Please see recipe tin eats page for a great explanation. Not sure how to link here sorry. Also sorry advance if I’ve missed something and this is already been picked up 202.172.120.184 (talk) 06:02, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
