Page move
[edit]I moved this page to the species name since the mould affects more spcies than potatoes only. --nixie 3 July 2005 12:01 (UTC)
History of chemical control
[edit]Am I right in thinking understanding of the cause of blight dates from the period of the Irish and Highland famines, and that chemical means of control were first used effectively during or shortly after this period? Laurel Bush 09:58, 11 August 2005 (UTC).
No, they had no idea what caused it, that's why it was so devastating. It's still hard to control today.(a Mentally Efficient Loonies And Nice Insane Elephants creation 13:43, 8 February 2007 (UTC))
Correct name for Potato blight
[edit]Should Phytophthora infestans not be called Potato Late Blight? This distinguishes it from Early blight (Alternaria solani). -- Maccheek 15:03, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Genetic Engineering
[edit]I removed the mention of genetic engineering from the 1st paragraph. There's already a genetic engineering section. Also whether genetic engineering is ethical is controversial. -- Firefight (talk) 18:05, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit]There's something really wrong with the Genetic Marker section. Can someone take a look at it and fix it? I would, but I have no idea what it is about. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.167.227.184 (talk) 14:31, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
