Merger proposal
[edit]Phosphine ligand would be merged with metal phosphine complex in this proposal. Subsequent phosphine would be split to feature either PH3 itself or the organic derivatives. Suggestions, complaints, whatever are welcome.--Smokefoot (talk) 23:17, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support both parts of this proposal. The idea of these chemicals as ligands is inter-related to the compounds that contain them acting as ligands. And there is enough about PH3 as its own chemical to be one article itself as distinct from the class of derived chemicals that have many uses (including a ligands). There is already an organophosphorus compound as a large main article about many different structural classes, so we could stand to have a new separate article about the organophosphines subtopic. So to clarify and with other thoughts:
- Phosphine ligand: merge+redirect to Metal phosphine complex (that should probably be renamed to Metal–phosphine complex?)
- Phosphine: retain solely PH3 content, split off derivatives to Organophosphine (which is currently a redirect to Organophosphorus compound)
