Sport vs Sports

[edit]

Hi Gregbard, you recently changed the article title from Sport to Sports. I found the difference interesting and worth discussing. Most of the professional organizations, as well as the important books, refer to it as Philosophy of Sport. Do you believe it must be sports plural? I imagine the precedent is also set by Philosophy of Mind (not Minds), and Philosophy of Science (not Sciences), Philosophy of Religion (not Religions), etc. BabyJonas (talk) 18:47, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not really interested in getting into a British English v American English debate. In the U.S. it's "sports." However, Wikipedia has a standard in its MOS about unnecessary capitalization. Do the math (not "maths"). Greg Bard (talk) 14:35, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
