- I’d love to try to give you a hand editing this Wiki page Giorgiavirzi. I’ve only made 1 edit on Wikipedia in the past so you’ll have to excuse any mistakes I make, and if any of the other editors want to give me a few pointers along the way as well it would be much appreciated. To start before we address the changes you’d like to make, what I’d like to do is fix the errors and citations that are on the page and get those cleaned up. It’ll give me a chance to get better at digging up valid sources (I’m going to need a lot of help determining what’s valid or not), as well as give me some time to familiarize myself with all the previous changes that have been made to the page. I took a quick glance at the edit history and it seems there’ve been a few disputes made on the page so if anyone feels like getting me caught up to speed it would be greatly appreciated. With there being no discussions in the Talk page it’s a bit difficult to sort everything out. In the meantime I’m going to begin going through the Wiki page more thoroughly as well as take some time to skim through some other fashion designer’s pages to get an idea of what they look like. Thanks in advance for any help any of the editors involved can provide. JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 18:51, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
- I'm having some difficulty sourcing for a few of the other citations (Heeeeeeeelp please!!!) but have found all sorts of different information about Philipp during my digging. I've noticed one of the requests to add information by Giorgiavirzi was to have the GQ Germany Man of the Year Award in Fashion added. That's something I've seen come up on a number of occasions reading various articles. I'm going to make an edit to both the talk section to add an "Awards" section, as well as the edit on the page based on the sources I'll cite. As always, please advise if I've screwed up anywhere. Career section - Citations
[edit]I've created this talk section to organize edits that need to be made to correct the citations in the Career section of the Wiki. As I said I'm new to Wiki editing so I may be a bit slow in finding proper sourcing that will fit within the Wikipedia guidelines. As always, any and all help will be very much appreciated. JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 19:49, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- For the first citation in this section "Plein was studying law when he began designing furniture. Soon his designs drew attention from experts within the interior design industry and in 1998, the company was founded in Munich, Germany" The only thing I can assume is that the citation is to confirm that the company was founded in 1998. To remove this citation I'd like to reference the Bloomberg profile for PHILIPP PLEIN International AG [1] as a source. If anyone has any objections or other suggestions please let me know. I'll make the edit within the next couple days to give anyone a chance to respond. Hope to hear from some people! JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 20:18, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- Since there have been no objections, I'm removing the first citation and using the Bloomberg profile as a source to the founding date of the company. As always, I'd appreciate any tips and suggestions anyone has to make that will help this along. JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 17:24, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
- Well I'm still hoping to try to get some people engaged here but since nobody's shown up yet, going to make my next edit along with what I'd like to do after that. Since I'm unable to find a solid source for the number of stores around the world, I'm going to remove that line until myself or someone else can come up with something valid. What I'm putting together to add in the near future is a bullet point list of when the different brands were launched or purchased, and when the PP International was started. As always, your thoughts and assistance would be very much appreciated. Although doing this solo so far has been an awesome experience and confidence boost! Awards section
[edit]This area will be to discuss any edits to the Awards section of the page. One of the awards mentioned earlier in the Talk page is Philipp winning the "2016 winner of GQ Germany Man of the Year Award in Fashion". Between the link that Giorgiavirzi provided [1] and a couple that I've come across (Please someone let me know if I should be using original or google translated pages for the Talk/Sourcing), [2] [3] I think there are enough valid sources to have the award added to his page. The Brand
[edit]Hey Everyone. I'm having a bit of trouble collecting sourcing that I feel is valid for the career section and the dates of each brand launch/purchase so I'm going to take a break from editing that and begin to work on The Brand section of the page. To begin I'd like to keep the same format that's being used of short form notes on each show/event, however to avoid the earlier issues of "puffery" (A Wiki term I still don't understand 100%), I'll leave celeb names out of the new points until I can get a better grasp of how to keep everything within Wikipedia's guidelines. Again if I could enlist the assistance of some more experienced editors to make this go smoothly, it would be appreciated. Thanks everyone (If you're reading!!!). - In order to catch up on fashion shows Philipp has put together, I'm adding fashion shows I've found that Philipp ran between 2016 to current. As I said earlier to keep from there being an argument about puffery again, until I get myself more familiarized with how current fashion designers have their pages written up I'm going to leave any celebrity names out of the edits. Below is the list with sources included.
- In September 2016 had his "Alice in Ghettoland" runway show in Milan for Milan Fashion Week to launch his 2017 spring/summer line. [1][2]
- In February 2017 the men's & women's 2017/2018 fall/winter line was showed during New York fashion week. [3][4]
- In May 2017 Philipp hosted a coed runway show to display the brand's resort 2018 collection at his villa in Cannes during the Cannes Film Festival. [5][6]
- June 2017 Philipp had 3 shows for 3 separate brands in Milan Men's Fashion Week. For Philipp Plein, Plein Sport, and Billionaire Couture. [7]

Page Lead
[edit]I'm not comfortable with the lead only stating "Philipp Plein is a German fashion designer and founder of an eponymous brand". It imparts little information about who he is I'd like to flesh the section out more but until I can provide proper sourcing for everything, I'm going to change it to read "Philipp Plein is a German fashion designer founder of an eponymous brand, and head of the PHILIPP PLEIN International Group [1]. Before I add anything else to the lead I'm going to review other current fashion designers Wikipedia pages to get a better idea of how they've been written so I can bring this page up to speed. Thank you. JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 16:10, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- I've looked at various Wikipedia articles for other brands and fashion designers and there's a few things I've noticed. Brands do have their sub brands in the lede (e.g. Nike). And that other fashion designers include lists of notable celebrities they've either worked with or dressed (e.g. Jeremy Scott), while providing more details in it's own section. I'm going to include the brands Philipp Plein, Plein Sport, and Billionaire Couture in the intro line so it will read "Philipp Plein is a German fashion designer and founder of the Phillip Plein International Group which includes the Philipp Plein, Plein Sport, and Billionaire Couture brands." Sourcing for these changes are [2] [3] [4]
- I'm also going to add a list of notable celebrities that has worked with that will include celebrities that have used his designs for work/show purposes (i.e. music videos, movies, galas, etc) but I'm going to exclude any celebrities that have just been "seen" wearing his designs. Thank you. JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 19:05, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

Career Section - Adding Plein's Net Worth
[edit]Hey Everyone, got to looking around for more clothes and stumbled on an interesting financial article listing Philipp Plein as one of the top 300 richest people in Switzerland for 2016. The business magazine Bilanz.ch has an updating list on their site listing the richest families and individuals called "The Die 300 Reichsten"(Top 300 Richest) that has Philipp listed at #175 for 2016 [1] (For some reason I can't get the Google translated version to link properly sorry). I'm going to add this into the career section as it's an item I've found in a number of other biopic projects for business figures. Again thanks to anyone watching and please let me know if you have any suggestions to improve the edits I make. JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 19:30, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- Quick correction. Took another look at the article and realized I entered 175th on the list instead of 275th. My first official editing mistake! lol JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 16:34, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Starting to get back into editing again and wanted to update this page a bit before I start working on my next page. One of the things I found is that Bilanz has updated their listing for the "The Die 300 Reichsten"(Top 300 Richest)" for 2019 placing Philipp Plein at 249th with a net worth of 300 million [2] JustAnotherNerdWithWords (talk) 18:20, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
