Changed portal tagging to WikiProject Medicine

[edit]

I believe Phenylacetic acid to clearly belong in the Medicine / Pharmacology portal. At least in terms of importance. While rarely administered as a drug by itself, it is a precursor to many well known and important drugs, and an important ingredient in the synthesis of many more. Although not within my field of expertise - I guess that Phenylacetic acid is considered an important substance in the fragrance/cosmetics industry too, as it is often declared in small amounts as an ingredient in hair and skin care products - probably as a constituent of perfumes used to create or mask a particular fragrance. As far as I know it is of minor importance to the food and drink industry - to which portal it was automatically assigned by TinucherianBot. While it is found in the fruits of plants, the concentration is so low that I do not think it contributes in any significant way to the nutritional value of any fruit. The body would make far more Phenylacetic acid from the Phenetylamine contained in a bar of chocolate, but compared to the nutritional value of other constituents of chocolate its contribution would still be negligible.
