For the vaccine to work it needed to deliver a stable accurate replica of the virus's spike protein so that the body's immune system could recognize and react to COVID{{nbhyph}}19 if they became infected.<ref name = "Miller_2021" />{{rp|72–75}} In developing a stable replica, the team was assisted by advice from [[Barney S. Comirnaty Omicron JN.1 (bretovameran), a COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine (nucleoside modified, embedded in lipid nanoparticles). ema.europa.eu/en/documents/product-information/comirnaty-epar-product-information_en.pdf 2003:E8:5F4B:B067:49C2:5740:2A53:F649 (talk) 09:04, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please add this depiction of the pivotal clinical trial results:

I believe it should fit in the adverse effects section. Description: Main results of the randomized controlled trial of Biontech-Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine (Tozinameran, Comirnaty, bnt162b2) versus placebo (0.9% saline injection) - 6-month follow-up. According to Thomas SJ, Moreira ED Jr, Kitchin N, et al. Safety and efficacy of the BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 vaccine through 6 months. N Engl J Med 2021;385:1761-73. DOI: 10.1056/NEJMoa2110345 https://www.nejm.org/doi/suppl/10.1056/NEJMoa2110345/suppl_file/nejmoa2110345_appendix.pdf .

Delayed distant urticaria

[edit]

One of the more significant side effects of this vaccine has been delayed distant urticaria lasting a week or more (with treatment). I think it would be good to include this in the Adverse Effects section. In the cases of full-body urticaria, this can cause some itchy sleepless nights for patients. There are multiple reliable independent sources that have described this phenomenon.
