Notability

[edit]

There has been raised questions as to the notability of Petter Jansen. As the article not only clearly shows, but also references, he is presently CEO of a pulic traded company worth multiple billion NOK, he is former CEO of what is by far Norways largest airline, SAS Braathens, that also is the largest subisidary of Europes third largest airline group, SAS Group. When he retired from the job in SAS Braathens, the incident was object to massive media attention. This incident was noted through multiple sentences in the SAS Braathens article prior to the creation of this article (and not added by yours truly). A search for "Petter Jansen" on Sesam showed 3,819 hits, just counting news coverage. There is also a substatntial article about him on the Norwegian Wikipedia. In the future, please be careful and conduct some reserch before nominating aricles for speedy deletion. Arsenikk 20:25, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability is not inherited, so the fact he is the CEO of a publicly traded company is irrelevant. The article as it stands has only one reference, the Norweigan Property website, which doesn't qualify as a reliable third party under WP:NOTE. I'll remove the speedy tag, but please can you improve the references in the article and properly establish Jansen's notability. Marwood 20:39, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have added four references, two in English and two in Norwegian and all from established, third-party sources, concerning both his engagement in SAS Braathens, Norwegian Property and Tromsø 2018. Note that one of these (though in Norwegian) is an entire article in NA24 about his acquisition of stocks in Norwegian Property. I hope that this clears all doubt as to the notability of Jansen.
