Ramism
[edit]The Swedish wikipedia article for Petrus Ramus clearly divides his biography from ramism, the school of thought he was the namesake of. This article mixes the two, and has no separate article for ramism. Wouldn't a clearer division be preferable? Unfortunately I know no more about ramism than I've read in the wikipedia, so I'm probably not the best person to do this. Lijil 09:22, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Date of death
[edit]According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy link quoted, Ramus was killed not on the first but on the third day of the St Bartholomew's Day Massacre, making it at least the 26th August. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.138.189.76 (talk) 02:16, 30 December 2006 (UTC).

Role of Dialectique in Anglo-Saxon cultural history
[edit]De la Ramée's protestant dialectics became part of the 17th century English school curriculum with the publication of Butler's The Logic of Ramus.

Neutrality
[edit]Is lacking in the article. Ong's views should not be the only source. Fortunately there is a great deal now written about Ramism. As it says above, there might be a case for splitting that topic out. But first the article should be cleaned up. Charles Matthews (talk) 09:17, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- I have now created Ramism with about 20% of what was here, as a more suitable place to discuss what happened into the 17th century. Charles Matthews (talk) 13:00, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Which Cardinal of Lorraine?
[edit]I assumed John, Cardinal of Lorraine from date. A source says Charles, Cardinal of Lorraine, very young at the time (but not impossible given his rapid church promotion. Not resolved. Charles Matthews (talk) 20:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Leibniz and Ramism
[edit]I read on the latest academic biography of Leibniz, and I saw there that he was very much into Ramist educational philosophy, and used it extensively to guide his studies. Since Leibniz is incredibly notable, it would be interesting if some able Wikipedician (a specialist in Wikipedianism) could add that into there! Thanks! 187.64.234.98 (talk) 05:13, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
