Why is this an entirely separate page?

[edit]

This doesn't seem important enough to denote the creation of its own whole page. Like why we don't have an article dedicated to the MCU version of Iron Man, or "Ultimate" Magneto. Instead we have a sub section within the broad character page describing that alternate version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:1107:8249:9815:E8EF:24B1:5A1 (talk) 18:31, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We do have a MCU article on Iron Man though. So failed example. Jhenderson 777 20:24, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:Otherstuffexists. You're violating it. You cannot justify the existence of this page by claiming another similar one exists. It's not even that similar. We are comparing a longstanding and unique interpretation of Tony Stark to a one-and-done interpretation of Spider-Man. 2604:2000:1107:8249:ECE6:9C8C:5010:3B4F (talk) 22:13, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Facepalm. You are the one who brought it up. Jhenderson 777 14:24, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Someone tell my why this is a separate page?

[edit]

This is not the Marvel database. We do not need a separate page for ab alternate version of Spider-Man, it's confusing to people. There's no reason why we can't just include this Spider-Man in the Composite Spidey page. Unlike MCU Iron Man he does not appear consistently throughout multiple games or products, only one, while Tony Stark is relevant in the entire MCU which could be considered standalone at this point. We might as well make a page for the 2000 film series Spider-Man, as that portrayal has more content for Spidey than this game does at this point, or Arkhamverse Batman, as that game has so much more lore at this point than Spider-Man PS4 as it stands. And if we keep this new page we might as well make a Batman (Arkham Series) or Batman (Rocksteady Games) page. 2604:2000:1107:8249:857B:B1C5:91F7:EC77 (talk) 12:48, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:Otherstuffexists. You're violating it. Also see Arkham Knight which is a better comparison anyway. Be my guest in creating a Arkhamverse version of Batman. But I think there is two things you don’t know. This version of Spider-Man was established as different than mainstream Spider-Men and he is part of Marvel canon now being established as that crossing over with other Spider-Men. DC has not done that with the Arkham version of Batman. Jhenderson 777 13:40, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I know that very well, that's why I'm trying to debate this. compared to the Arkhamverse Batman, Rocksteady takes their time creating their own special lore through not only the games, but via tie-in comic books, which makes Arkham Batman to normal Batman as you are claiming Insomniac Spider-Man to be to normal Spider-man. To solely compare Spider-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man (Earth-12041, the 2012 cartoon) was in the Spider-Verse comic too, and also has his own special kind of interpretation as well as many deviations from the original story. Yet he is not qualified to be recognized separately by Wikipedia, as he is still the same Peter Parker, and therefore a deviant interpretation and nothing too special. This reigns true for every other Marvel character in Earth-12041 that is not original to that reality. What I'm trying to say is Insomniac Spider-Man does not deviate enough in both style, story, and overall interpretation for him to be considered separate from other Spiders, nor is he long-standing enough to be. Only his game and universe can be considered separate same way we differentiate the Arkham game series but not the Arkhamverse Batman. The article is just a synopsis of the game. 2604:2000:1107:8249:ECE6:9C8C:5010:3B4F (talk) 22:01, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Responded on the other page. Let's keep it in there. Jhenderson 777 22:47, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But... you’re the one who replied to both pages. Just saying. 2604:2000:1107:8249:6985:8954:CA12:60CB (talk) 03:09, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation

[edit]

I think moving this page to Spider-Man (Insomniac Games character) would provide a better disambiguation for the reader. As it stands now, this could easily lead to thinking the article is about Spider-Man from Insomniac Games, which is clearly not the intent. probably worth adding to the Spider-Man (disambiguation) page when the title is settled (move or not). 2pou (talk) 16:11, 28 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objections to a page move. Jhenderson 777 17:23, 28 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I keep getting confused when edits show in my watchlist. I plan to move this, but any thoughts on what is better between Spider-Man (Insomniac Games character) and Spider-Man (Gamerverse) (since Gamerverse appears to be what Marvel is calling this universe and the comics he has been used it)? -2pou (talk) 17:33, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The first one seems better for now. Jhenderson 777 17:40, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Summary section

[edit]

What is the point of the summary section?Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 22:19, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You want it removed? Won’t be much a loss. I just figured the character needed a background info. Jhenderson 777 01:19, 5 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jhenderson777: I'm not suggesting anything it to be removed, i was just curious what its trying to accomplish. In my opinion: if there is just background information of who the character is, then i think it would be better to combine it in the appearances.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 10:07, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Miles Morales independent sources

[edit]

Placing a source dump here just in case Miles meets the criteria for notable enough character for his own page. Jhenderson 777 16:46, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
