Number of bird species

The number of birds he has seen is a dynamic figure, citing ebird.org and needs updating. The figure as of today in the same source is 8,992. Ptilinopus (talk) 08:34, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unverifiable source

The source (in text) of surfbirds.com (corrected from .org) is not very useful as evidence of rankings. Anyone can join, and claim a number of species seen. There is no listing of species, nor method of verification required. To be sure the majority of those listed would be honest and valid. But being self-stated, a person’s entry is not evidence of validity. Ptilinopus (talk) 09:52, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
