I have removed some material that discusses some of DeCoursey's articles because it is a mere listing of some of his articles. Please see: Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. If there is a particular article that caused an impact, then that impact should be covered. But we can't merely list some articles and anecdotes without establishing context or impact. Separately, some of the links violate the Reliable Sources policy.--Blargh29 (talk) 05:26, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Columbia Journalism Review wrote about the reporters covering Vice President Dick Cheney in the fall of 2004 on a rare day when DeCoursey covered the national campaign and the author refers to DeCoursey several times<http://www.cjr.org/behind_the_news/the_boys_and_girls_on_the_bus.php>. He was also on the spot when Teresa Heinz-Kerry refused to explain whom she had just accused of displaying "un-American traits" in the 2004 campaign against her husband, Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report quoted DeCoursey, whose tape recorder was closest when Heinz-Kerry told Colin McNickle of the Trib-Review to "shove it.<"http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/s_205302.html> In a 2003 Patriot-News column on that year's state budget battle, DeCoursey called it "three-way ping-pong."<http://www.papartnerships.org/pdfs/clip82503c.pdf> Capitolwire is a subscription-only site, so most stories and columns by DeCoursey password-only. A few have been reprinted on other sites, including this one on how the regulations to enforce the state's lobbying disclosure regulations took effect. <http://www.openrecordspa.org/news_files/edd04470c0ea4b4e6ba5f5268ae84c8b-90.html> In another column, he wrote about how Gov. Ed Rendell chose among competing parts of his base in making policy decisions. <http://www.goodschoolspa.org/pdf/news_articles/Capitolwire%207-7-08.pdf> And in this column, written in 2008, DeCoursey showed the first phase of the legislative Republicans' anti-tax movement, which led directly to the long state budget impasse of 2009. It discusses how Rendell won a big re-election despite having raised taxes, only to be unable to get new taxes passed in his second term.
