- Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth[a] is a crossover role-playing video game developed by Atlus for the Nintendo 3DS handheld video game console. - crossover of what exactly? Persona with Etrian Odyssey? Or Persona 3 with Persona 4?
- It is a P3-P4 crossover. I moved this down to the bit that mentioned the characters.
- It is a spin-off set within the Persona series, itself part of the larger Megami Tensei franchise. - This is needlessly complicated. I think saying that it is set within the Persona series is good enough.
- I have changed it to
It is part of the Persona series, itself part of the larger Megami Tensei franchise.
, is this good enough? I would prefer to have the parent franchise linked if possible.
- I have changed it to
- while NIS America published the title in PAL regions - should wikilink PAL regions.
- Done.
- The story of Persona Q is set within an isolated dimensional pocket - I don't think I understand this.
- I have simplified this to
and sent into a replica of Persona 4's Yasogami High School in another world.
- I have simplified this to
- which can restore Zen and Rei's memories and release them - Are they captured? Why did they need to be released? Mentioning the treasures can restore their memories is good enough.
- They have no way of exiting the High School replica. Let me know if the wording is clearer.
- first-person dungeon crawling through labyrinths and combat using the titular Personas against hostiles known as Shadows. - Lots of jargons in one sentence. Dungeon crawling? titular Personas?
- I have linked dungeon-crawling and changed "titular Personas" to
combat using the characters' "Persona" abilities
, let me know if this is good enough or if you think more clarity is needed.- I think the dungeon crawling part is ok here (though more clarity is needed in the gameplay section), but "Persona" abiltiies is still not good enough since most readers will not understand this.
- I have linked dungeon-crawling and changed "titular Personas" to
- Development on the game began after the success of fighting game spin-off Persona 4 Arena in 2012, based on the wish to create a collaborative spin-off with the Etrian Odyssey and fan demands for a Persona title on the 3DS. - It sounds like this game was made because Arena is a success, which is not entirely accurate. They made this game because the Arena collaboration with external devs is a success.
- You are correct, I believe I have fixed this
- In Yasogami High, the player can heal their party, develop items and equipment - In Yasogami High School, not Yasogami High, which is strange.
- Changed to Yasogami High School.
- the player can heal their party, develop items and equipment - what do you mean by "developing" your items and equipment. Customization?
- Changed to be more specific; The player can sell materials dropped by enemies in exchange for new items and equipment.
- and visit the Velvet Room where they can fuse new Personas - what are Personas?
- In labyrinths, the player's party explores while fighting enemies and finding treasures. - what can you explore in a labyrinth. A little more elaboration about exploration will be great.
- Elaborated a bit, The labyrinths are essentially large floors connected by stairs.
- If a player does not want to map out the dungeons themselves, they can switch to an auto-mapping mode. - I don't think this is needed since a map is filled out on the bottom screen tells me that this is happening automatically.
- Removed "A map is filled out automatically"; The section was worded incorrectly, and was actually referring to fully exploring each floor in order to receive a special reward chest.
- which can be avoided with the right planning - extremely vague and unclear.
- Removed and replaced with how the player has to more in specific ways to avoid them.
- Overall I don't think the gameplay section tells me much about how the game actually works, especially with so many jargons here. It is quite lacking as well. For instance, you mention that you can heal your party, but the article never mentions that you actually have a party. What do they do then? You can fuse Personas, but with what? The first-person gameplay mentioned in the lead cannot be found here as well. I think this section needs serious rework and elaboration.
- trapping the Investigation Team inside a bizarre alternate version of the school. - This Investigation Team comes out of nowhere. Are they the protagonist from Persona 3? or Persona 4? The same goes for the "Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad".
- Added links to the character lists for each, makes it obvious which games they are from.
- in order to restore their memories and hopefully find a way to escape - Did they lose their memories beforehand? A bit strange that you have mentioned it in the lead but not in the story section.
- added that they do not know how they got to the school.
- a manifestation of death created by the Collective Unconscious - what is the Collective Unconscious?
- The collective Unconscious is a plot element of other games, but isn't relevant is this one (It's simply mentioned he was created by it in the game, thats it) So I removed the mention of it.
- Rei is really a girl named Niko who died of illness twelve years prior. - should remove "really".
- removed
- When creating the storyline, Kido felt pressured due to the strong fan liking for both main game's cast - both games'
- Changed.
- with them eventually settling on choosing the incorporate the closest paralleling elements from both series. - writing is a bit clumsy here.
- changed to "eventually settling on incorporating"
- The battle system was based primarily on that used in Etrian Odyssey - The article tells me this already, so this is repetition.
- Removed, rephrased other parts of sentence due to removal.
- elements such as "One More Turn" and exploitable weaknesses - You mention none of these in the gameplay section.
- I added stuff about exploitable weaknesses in the gameplay section; One more turn isn't in this game, no idea why it is mentioned here; Removed it.
- some stat-reducing spells were a combination of elements - what is the meaning of "stat-reducing". This is not mentioned in the gameplay section.
- while the "Boost" feature was an entirely new addition suggested by the staff - the same problem here. The gameplay section does not mention this, making its inclusion here strange.
- Now it does...
- Because of this fan familiarity, Soejima was able to take risks with character portrayals - A bit contradicting since you said that his biggest concern was with fans expectations but now that since there was fan familiarity, he could take risks?
- Removed.
- The redesigns gave Soejima the chance to reevaluate and refine his designs in this new style - unclear. Aren't the redesigns his designs?
- Also removed, The sentence was cheesily worded and too unclear to fit within the article.
- Additional arrangements were done by Kitajoh and Konishi - Well they are the main composers, so this is not necessary.
- removed.
- Two versions of the battle theme were created, each with instrumentation and vocals related to the respective casts - Is the second another battle theme based on Persona 4? This is unclear.
- Added "One for the persona 3 characters and one for the Persona 4 characters"
- There is also a Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth Famitsu DX Pack with the game itself - What is this pack? What does it contain?
- A manga adaptation illustrated by Akaume will begin serialization in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh magazine in its October 2014 issue - is future tense still applicable here?
- changed to "Began"
- the team were extra careful that they remained faithful to both the original and fan expectations for the characters. - remove the "extra", which doesn't really add anything to this sentence.
- Did.
- A compromise that was made was that players did not have enough space in the naming screen to use the "Yu Narukami" title for the Persona 4 protagonist. - So they opted not to fix this problem? You can name your characters in this game?
- The reception section is very short. This needs major expansion.
- and the leader skills - what is this?
- navigating the labyrinths the weakest aspect of the game because of situations like backtracking in search for a key or a puzzle solution - This does not explain why he thought this aspcet is weak.
- Aspcet? lol... Anyways, He essentially calls them "wastes of time" in the review, So i added that.
- oops, sorry! AdrianGamer (talk) 04:30, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- Aspcet? lol... Anyways, He essentially calls them "wastes of time" in the review, So i added that.
- Several critics liked how the game blended the gameplay styles of Persona and Etrian Odyssey - You mention this in the topic sentence, but why did they like this blend of gameplay styles? This wasn't explained.
- they effectively created a sense of togetherness within the group - "they" is not needed.
- removed...
- The reception section is also too short with too little reviews being actually used. The fact that the gameplay section was underdeveloped also undermine this section as well.

1b | it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation |
2 | Verifiable with no original research |
2a | it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline |
2b | reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose) |
2c | it contains no original research |
2d | it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism |
3 | Broad in its coverage |
3a | it addresses the main aspects of the topic |
3b | it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style) |
4 | Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each |
5 | Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute |
6 | Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio |
6a | media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content |
6b | media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions |
Cmt | I think that the gameplay section and the reception section is a bit underdeveloped, and the poorly explained gameplay section undermines the readability of other sections as well. Putting this on hold until the issues are cleaned up. AdrianGamer (talk) 13:51, 16 June 2018 (UTC) |

- @Alexandra IDV: @AdrianGamer: I'm not going to be be able to work on this over the next week or so, as my grandfather was diagnosed with a severe form of cancer and I'm flying to Arizona to see him. 💵Money💵emoji💵💸 17:00, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Alexandra IDV: - Will you take over to work on the other issues I have raised? If not, I will close the review. AdrianGamer (talk) 14:17, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you all for your work, but I will be closing this review as no editor steps in to work on the remaining issues. The article still needs some extensive work before it can reach the GA status. I hope your grandfather gets well soon. AdrianGamer (talk) 14:01, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
