Er, really?

The penny was the only unit of coinage in England until the early 14th century, and as such was a coin of considerable value.

The name Penney is also derived from Penn(e)(y) a shepherd related name and a large 'arm' of the Penney family was based on/around the Isle of Sheppey in SE england Lazercows 13:35, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
