[edit]

I've subcat'd the running jokes/themes. It may not be the best breakdown but it was getting rather long and could use some kind of division.

Regarding regular listeners: enter a regular listener if Penn/Goudeau verbally acknowledges them as a repeat caller/gmailer. ("Oh, I really like hearing from x.") Being a regular listener and getting a gmail/call on once should not qualify. Enter only listeners who actually pop up again and again, preferably if they have some on going shtick (President Mike or always refers to the hosts as sexy penn and sexy mike, etc.). The title of this article has been changed because they are not regular listeners but rather frequent callers and e-mailers.

Tense fixing

[edit]

Since the show has just ended, the tenses throughout the article need to be fixed. (from 'is' to 'was', etc.) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.234.106.10 (talk) 03:55, 3 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I didn't even read this page but I went through and changed many of the tenses. I also added weasel words (heh) because Penn never did anything "everytime" or "always." I've been listening to some of the old podcasts and in particular, he let a "www" slide. I also did some proofreading, capitalized "Mason," etc. Also, full disclosure, I am an admin on Pennfans.net and I added a link to the first podcast there because it was no longer available from the previous link. I also removed at least one link that no longer worked to a picture of the monkey puking picture.Vagabond997 22:21, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Show Themes

[edit]

I remember back when pennradio.com didn't redirect to pennandteller.com, there were MP3s of all the themes available. Does anyone know where you can still get them, or if they're available anywhere?--Seth Goldin 14:38, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seth - they are available at pennfans.net. Again, in full disclosure, I am a moderator there and I am not pimping the site - it just happens that they are there.
You can access a list by going to this xml page: http://www.pennfans.net/files/audio/PennRadioThemes.xml Vagabond997 13:05, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --Seth Goldin 15:44, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New Penn Radio Show

[edit]

New talk on PennFans claims Penn is coming back to radio soon via a Sony deal. Since we have no name for a page on the new show should it go here? Are Penn's unpublished statements grounds for posting such to the page? Dgandhi360 18:20, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

The Penn Radio show was a CBS radio production. CBS is a major radio and TV network. A show produced by CBS and syndicated to several major media markets is manifestly notable. See also references for dead tree media references. Clearly the show is notable. Mindme (talk) 17:24, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's great but notability is established by verifiable 3rd party references. A couple have been added but more would be nice.--Rtphokie (talk) 17:34, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Two references to third party sources should be sufficient to establish it was a radio show produced by CBS radio and broadcast to major media markets. A major media radio show is itself notable. Notability has been clearly established. Nothing more is needed. Mindme (talk) 17:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the link to the D.C. page for Penn Radio (meant to establish the show is a CBS radio show and clearly, clearly passes wiki notability), the url ends in a period and is not parsed correctly by wiki:

http://www.last.fm/music/Free+FM+106.7+WJFK+-+CBS+Radio+-+Washington,+D.C.

One needs to add in the final dot. Anyway should anyone doubt the Penn Radio show as a CBS radio show and broadcast in important radio markets:

Monkey Tuesday section.

[edit]

There was a lot of information that still links to the old Monkey Tuesday article, which in turn has been redirected back here. While I agree that Monkey Tuesday doesn't deserve its own article, perhaps we should find a few additional useful facts and reintegrate them here? 96.252.96.65 (talk) 21:10, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes, and at that point, perhaps remove the now self-referential links. 96.252.96.65 (talk) 21:11, 23 April 2009 (UTC)one or two additional[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

Article seems to half-trivia and has way too much unverifiable stuff. Lots42 (talk) 13:34, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's pretty much all verifiable if you listen to all the shows. - Schnob Reider (talk) 12:18, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
