[edit]This article should be deleted. The concept is ill-defined (see the equator), and quite useless. On top of that, a quick google search reveals conflicting definitions with no applications. For example, the American Meteorological Society defines a pendulum day as 1 at the north pole, whereas the book "Ocean currents" by Gerhard Neumann defines it to be 1/2 on the north pole. The article seems to side with the first definition. Giving the conflicting definitions out there, and the uselessness of the concept, this article is better deleted, as it will confuse readers of some of the literature if the definition in the literature they are reading differs from the one chosen for wikipedia. --ShanRen (talk) 00:36, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
