Thackeray's View of Women

[edit]

(I am withdrawing my comments about the religious hypocrisy of Arthur Pendennis's mother until I have the time to become more familiar with Wikipedia's rules and conventions. The following comments were in response to my now-deleted post, but I will not remove those as I did not write them.) Philippachaucer (talk) 03:09, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there some point you wish to make about the editing of this article, or is this just some commentary on your feelings about the author and the society of the time? Road Wizard (talk) 06:50, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, Wikipedia is not a forum. While some small amount of general topic discussion is allowed on talk pages it should always be grounded with the intention of improving the article.
Do you have any objections to me removing your earlier comments? Road Wizard (talk) 18:43, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Same question as above. Can you please explain the purpose of your comments? The talk pages are generally reserved for discussions about the editing of an article, not adding personal commentary. Regards. Road Wizard (talk) 06:50, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Henry Foker, Harry Foker

[edit]

I haven't read this book and I was just reading the overview. The paragraph introducing Henry and Harry is confusing; Harry is really not introduced at all. At least it tells you Henry is Pen's college friend. I actually thought it was the same person and a mistake was made somewhere. Can someone clear up the confusion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.32.197.199 (talk) 15:06, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
