The result of the move request was: move the first article to Pelican Lake (Kenora District, Ontario) at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 04:39, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

– I have started this move request because there is some inconsistency with the disambiguators used for geological and hydrological features within Canada, and I have chosen this example as a potential precedence to perform and/or propose moves of other related articles.

I looked through a few of the guidelines (especially Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Canada-related articles) and I'm not finding anything concrete about which way this should be done. Per the move log, specifically this edit, Pelican Lake (Kenora District) is the current name of that article because Kenora District is the name of the article for the district rather than Kenora District, Ontario. If that is the way it should be done, then Pelican Lake (Cochrane District, Ontario) should be moved to Pelican Lake (Cochrane District) since the respective article's current title is Cochrane District instead of Cochrane District, Ontario.

However, relating to similar United States subjects for geology (which seem go by "county, state" similar to Canada's "[county, municipality, or parish], [providence or territory]"), the "county, state" disambiguation is what is seemingly used more often than then just "county" in the event a county has a unambiguous name.

With all this being said, I support moving Pelican Lake (Kenora District) to Pelican Lake (Kenora District, Ontario) and oppose moving Pelican Lake (Cochrane District, Ontario) from its current title. However, I am listing both for consistency since I believe their disambiguators need to be consistent; if the consensus sways against my perspective, then the disambiguators should at least be consistent.
