Merge proposal

[edit]

Hematide has been named Peginesatide via USAN. It is noted on the Affymax, Inc homepage. I hereby suggest a merger of Hematide into the Peginesatide page, since the drugs are of identical molecular structure and purpose. Please offer comments or suggestions as to whether or not it is deserving of a merger. I strongly feel that it is.

See Affymax, Inc homepage for more information <http://www.affymax.com/view.cfm/9/Homepage>.

I agree. The Pharmaceutical manufacturer Affymax received approval from the FDA to market Omontys (peginesatide) 3/27/2012. Hence, Hematide is an outdated name for Peginesatide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.18.38.92 (talk) 01:11, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This peginesatide/Omontys article only mentions use of the drug in the United States. What about it's approval status in other countries (e.g., Japan)? Including this information will make this article more relevant to persons worldwide. (Same goes for all other pharmacology entries in Wikipedia.)
