Lead section needs improvement
[edit]@Luiz265, thank you for this very informative article on a remarkable person. Please continue to work on it. In particular, this substantial article has a minimalist first section that needs improvement. According to the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section, the lead should explain why Bertran is notable and summarize the most important points, in a neutral tone. Thanks in advance! @Ruud Buitelaar, thank you very much for your guidance! I tried to improve the Lead section, with information that is later explained better in the article. Regards, Luiz265 (talk) 19:02, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Luiz265, thank you for your work on the lead section. I have a few comments. Notability for academics is described in Wikipedia:Notability (academics). I would suggest that you indicate clearly in the lead section why Paulo Bertran is notable according to these guidelines. Certainly he is not notable as a professor of "several" universities or because he wrote "several" books. That is simply not notable; I would suggest you rephrase that and avoid the word several. Be precise. What makes him notable is his membership of Academia Brasileira de Letras and maybe some of the other societies and institutes. Can you add his name to the members on the page of the Academia Brasileira? What makes him notable may be the awards received. And certainly is notable that two libraries are named after him and that there are Paulo Bertran Memorials. In sum, what makes a person notable is not what he or she says about himself, but what others recognize about his work. Success! Ruud Buitelaar (talk) 20:29, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
