Deletion Debate

[edit]

Delete per nom. Little content. No real context for notability. No sources. How do I know this isn't just made up? Calebrw (talk) 19:34, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As reviewing administrator, I think the article clearly shows context. speedy tags have a specific meaning, and their use is explained at WP:CSD N context means it can be be figured out what the article is about, and that';s not the case. Its about a particular named wrestler. . The Wikipedia deletion policy is explained at WP:DP, and the basis of it is that deletion is the last resort. This article is unsourced, and must be sourced to be acceptable, per WP:V , one of the basic policies. There are several ways to go about it. The best is to try to source it yourself, via google at least; and perhaps the pages here on the various wrestling leagues and championships will be of some help. If you can do so, you've made a positive contribution to wp. if you look and fail to find, then the appropriate thing to do is to add an "unsourced" tg to the article, and either ask the contributor on his talk page if he has any sources, or nominate it for WP:PRD or WP:AFD, giving the reason that you looked and could not find evidence for notability., citing how you searched. If you havent the time for all this, an acceptable way is just to put on the "unsourced" tag and someone will get around to checking it later.

You may if you choose nominate it for Prod or AfD saying just unsourced, but you run the risk of looking a little foolish if obvious sources are immediately found. I did that once or twice when I first came here, and learned from the reaction to always check first. DGG (talk) 00:00, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
