Paul McCartney

Yes, yes "Other" isn't a list of everyone named Paul, however, Paul McCartney is a notable personage who happens to be named Paul. Jwuthe2 04:56, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

I concur with this. I have just deleted someone's addition of Paul Potts as he doesn't have the high profile of someone like Paul McCartney or Paul Gauguin. I think a list of every Paul who has an article on Wikipedia would make the page far too long, and cumbersome to read and edit, so I would urge people to think carefully before they add other Pauls to this page. Paul McCartney and Paul Gauguin certainly do have higher profiles than most Pauls. Their inclusion on this page, though, is not supposed to be based on how high a profile the person has. According to the Manual of Style, we ought to include a person whose name happens to be the title of the dab page only if they are frequently referred to by the lone name, so I think even these two should probably be removed. I also think that leaving McCartney and Gauguin here has the unfortunate effect of encouraging people to add their own favorite Pauls. --Paul Erik 02:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

i believe paul gauguin was indeed referred to colloquially is simply 'paul'. i don't have a reference for it. paul mccartney, to a lesser extent, was also known so - in the sense that when one was talking about pop music in the 1960's, all one needed to say was 'paul', and it was known who you meant. regrettably, without reliable sources....Anastrophe 06:24, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Ron Paul

I am a paul supporter myself, but it seems that the Ron Paul Description is substantially more thoughough than the rest of the article. Would it not be more approriate to just call him a politician, even if he is much more. 132.61.176.6 (talk) 05:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
