5/3 Bank 5th inning
[edit]Does anyone know why Hughes leaves during the 5th inning and is replaced by another announcer? Dav2008 01:34, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Hard to believe this has never been answered. This is a typical switch-over, where the regular play-by-play guy switches over for an inning or so to the color guy. In Pat's case, this is currently Ron Coomer. Hughes stays in the booth, but the color guy gets a chance to do the play-by-play. I don't know the reason for this, but presumably it is to give the listener a bit of a change of scene, and shows that the color guy (usually an ex-pro ball player) has the chops to actually do the p-b-p.
