He rubbished Australian soap-operas whilst at Wimbledon after victory there
[edit]Australian soap-operas like Neighbours and Home And Away were enormously in vogue in The UK in the mid and late 1980's (more British people watched Neighbours - around 19 million or so - than there were actual people in Australia). It led to actors Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan being "imported" as popstars, and everything Australian gaining such kudos in Britain.
Pat Cash then turned up and won Wimbledon - an Australian against that background - and inevitably he was asked about such things and compared to them. But essentially he was a touring Australian professional champion tennis player being asked about cheap daytime TV in his country - and responded that he "couldn't understand all the fuss" in The UK about Australian soap-operas.
There should be a source online somewhere.

[edit]What is this about Cash's wife being the 'Neo-Geo Baseball Champion'. Is this true?
Height: 5' 12" ...so that would be about 6' then!

Joanna Jurca rocks
Musical interests
[edit]I've seen an article about him in a British heavy metal magazine (Kerrang!). Apparently he's played guitar in a rock band with John McEnroe, doing cover versions of classic rock songs by Led Zeppelin and others. Can anyone confirm this?

Cash is definitely not six foot three as stated in this article. He's about 179cm which would be about six feet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.36.196 (talk) 08:26, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
