Sourcing
[edit]This article was taken verbatim from the Pasadena Jewish Temple Website. It was written in the first person without sourcing. I edited it and added sourcing today. The needs sourcing tag is still appropriate Naschon (talk) 12:47, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Is it time to remove the sourcing tag from the article page. This article still needs a lot of work. Naschon (talk) 13:59, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- It was still a copyvio. I've deleted the history section. If we want one we should start from scratch. We can use the Fingerhut history[1] as a source. Ideally the controversies would be integrated with the other history. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 19:05, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Will invite original author to rewrite. Added section and stub. Naschon (talk) 14:14, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Controversies section
[edit]Can we get some help here? I removed the material about the busing because I don't see what the linkage is there? Also, I removed the material about the teacher sex offender because I don't see where it says he taught there ok, put on reading glasses :). He appears to be a former teacher? Is this relevant or a real controversie?. I am not saying that this material is not "true" just asking that it be properly sourced. Can others please get involved here? MAybe provide sources here first before readding any questionable material. Thank you. --72.209.8.205 (talk) 23:09, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Name
[edit]The name "Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center" appears in the logo and in a few places on the home page. However, the strategic plan (PDF), linked from the About page, consistently uses "Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center" and never "Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center". Various news stories are calling it "Pasadena Jewish Center and Temple", which is an error. The conclusion is that Wikipedia's current name is correct and should not be changed by using an ampersand or reversing the order to "Center and Temple". —Anomalocaris (talk) 23:31, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
Present vs Past Tense
[edit]I'm of the opinion that we should be using present tense here, not past tense. If you look at the website, it says "We are here. We are strong. We will rebuild." which is a good indicator that they're still active. InfoManiac297 (talk) 17:27, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- This ghoulish editing is a problem during this tragedy. Buildings are destroyed but congregations and communities do not become past tense. 〜 Adflatuss • talk 15:44, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
