I just wanted to say how impressed I was with the notable alumni. I went to a way better school and there aren't as many household names as by school. Who can beat a school that David Lee Roth, the founder of Winchells, and the assassin of RFK? very eclectic
- Let's not forget Van Halen. Oh, and how's your school (or any for that matter) better than PCC ;)--Folksong 05:31, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
JACKIE ROBINSON
Does anyone know what sports, if any, Robinson played in during his short attendance at PCC? FB 4/10/2006
- According to the school's records he lettered in the four major sports: Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track and Field. BassBone (my talk · my contributions) 05:50, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
The link listed for Mack Robinson on the noted alumni section towards the end of the PCC page is incorrect as it directs you to a J. Mack Robinson, a businessman of Georgia. The correct link is
http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Matthew_Robinson_(athlete) I am not an experinced Wiki contributor so despite my efforts I could find no way to edit the link, perhaps someoine with more knowledge can correct and add the proper link for Mack Robinson
Like Mack and Jackie, I am an alum of John Muir and PCC, we lived around the way from the Robinson household and they along with Edgar were my childhood heroes, Please correct this error about Mack who rode in he and his brother's long overdue Robinsons float for the 2000 Tournament of Roses Parade just a few months before passing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jon Jax 71 (talk • contribs) 16:25, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
PCC OR GCC???
I've heard that Gcc has a higher transferring rate than Pcc. But does it matter? It's hard to decide between the two. Which one would you guys prefer? Benefites? Differences? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.17.14.27 (talk) 05:07, 25 April 2007 (UTC).
- This is the place to discuss the article. It is not a forum about the school. Pairadox 07:50, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Conversion to a Four Year University?
I've overheard several conversations where people are saying that there are either plans or proposals to convert PCC into a four-year university. Is there any truth to these plans or are they just rumors? I am trying to find a source for this information but have come up short.70.239.150.72 21:22, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. In East LA, PCC is like the college to go to when you're out of luck. A lot of high school graduates just hop on here, either to get an AA or to transition to a four-year university after two years at PCC. Also, despite the fact that this community college is in Pasadena, it's not exactly wealthy. Saying they have plans to turn PCC into a four-year university is like saying McDonald's plans to change it so that all their workers have Bachelor's degrees as a requirement to work there. Nobody would come, and despite how popular the place is, people wouldn't be able to come and it'd go downhill. ― 金魚花火 21:20, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Lancers
does anyone if Lancers comes from the Californio Lancers who fought the US and were in the area? Saltysailor (talk) 17:24, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Former location?
How come this article does not make note that PCC had to be rebuilt? I believe its present location used to be with Pasadena High School, but then they switched places. At least that's what several students have told me. 75.4.241.18 (talk) 05:49, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- PCC is at the old Pasadena High School location, it was Pasadena High School that moved.Telecine Guy 04:36, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
John Kerry speech
The comments by John Kerry had nothig to do with PCC. They are fully covered in John Kerry#Controversy over comments on Iraq and education. Aside may a link in "See also", I don't see the need to have material on it in this article. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 22:31, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Events
This list is not "events", it is news or other... This has been noted since 2008. Will move some of these "events:" here if no one protest. Telecine Guy 04:35, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
Mess
This article was/is an unholy mess. As an alumna I am mortified. I spent some time today quickly breaking it down to general categories because there were almost none. Headers can be changed as we go along. There are almost NO references. PCC's rich history is nowhere to be found. This article needs a TON of work. Ucla that is a beautiful pic you added. Any more help would be greatly appreciated for this old and quite wonderful institution. Namaste...DocOfSoc (talk) 16:00, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Horribly referenced
There are 11 refs on this page that just go to the front page of the PCC website. On one hand, this fails WP:V, as it is a large website with much material, and particularly since some of the material may date and disappear, and we cannot go to archives unless we have a specified page its on. In addition, it is being used to make boastful claims, and PCC is not a reliable source for boastful claims about itself. --Nat Gertler (talk) 17:46, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
coordinates error
the coordinates don't seem to lead to the right location. i tried google maps and bing maps. 81.165.156.94 (talk) 08:34, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
"controversies"
This reads like petty garbage and is quite poorly written. Fix it, please. --71.116.235.10 (talk) 03:21, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
