This one was a bit harder to start than any of the other neighbourhood articles I have started, because this is the neighbourhood I grew up in. In fact, I grew up thinking of Parkview and Valleyview as being two separate neighbourhoods (we all did), and didn't realize the city considered them one neighbourhood until I got my paws on a cadastral map of the neighbourhood during the early 1990s.

In writing the article, I have generally stuck with published sources of information. That said, this is one time I will disagree with an official city published information source. The city says all residneces in the neighbourhood are single family dwellings, yet there is a small row house complex located behind Valleyview Shopping Centre. I know it is there because I used to walk past it every day on the way to school, and I know someone who currently lives (2007) in one of the units there. So it hasn't gone anywhere. As I said, though, in doing the write up, I have stuck with official city sources.
