Philadelphia has no section named "Parkland"
[edit]Of the article's three references, one is a dead link and the other two use the common noun "parkland" but do not mention a section or neighborhood with the name "Parkland". That's no mystery: there's no such place.
I'm tagging this article for speedy deletion. TypoBoy (talk) 22:24, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- The speedy deletion tag I added was removed, with the comment "reason does not apply: there are sources". It isn't clear what that editor meant by "sources". This article does have references, but none of them mention a Philadelphia neighborhood named "Parkland" (again, because there is none). The "Data Hub" at Philly.com does use the label "Parkland" for one of the sections it divides the city into, but it's clear that its using it in the generic sense of "land occupied by parks". It similarly uses the label "Industrial" for the southern swath that includes the Navy Yard, the airport, and the railyards, gas works, and refineries along the lower Schuylkill. (Do I have to say it? There isn't a neighborhood called "Industrial, Philadelphia".)
- If there were a section of Philadelphia named "Parkland", then it would be mentioned in newspapers or books, or on the City's own Philadelphia Neighborhoods and Place Names page. If we can't find references to it, we shouldn't have a page about it. TypoBoy (talk) 04:10, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- Now I see that Wikipedia has an article about Industrial, Philadelphia, because of course it does. I'm out of here. TypoBoy (talk) 04:12, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
