Parisian and Parisian (Bon-Ton)

Created seperate pages for the legacy Parisian aquired by Belk and for the Parisian stores aquired by Bon-Ton. Since Bon-Ton did not buy Parisian or the name, just five of its stores with the naming rights to those stores, it did not make sense to have current information on the Bon-Ton Parisian under the legacy Belk Parisian page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BhamAla (talk • contribs) 01:42, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Parisian becoming Belk???

Is Parisian really becoming Belk? If so, then which stores will be converted to Belk? Then what happens if a shopping mall has both a Belk and Parisian? Bucs2004 05:01, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

• Belk plans to convert all Parisian stores to the Belk's name in the 3rd quarter of 2007. They have not, to my knowledge, made decisions about which stores to close or sell in locations that would have two Belk's. --Dystopos 12:17, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Redirect

This should probably redirect to Paris from the adjectival form. A department store in Michigan is pretty low key. Richard001 06:39, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

I'd agree with that, except it wasn't always just in Michigan, but instead was once several stores strong throughout the southeastern United States and a few through the Midwest. The article states this clearly. Still, I understand the argument that perhaps the article referring to the department store may need to be moved to, perhaps, Parisian (department store). — ArkansasTraveler 12:07, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

• Parisian (disambiguation) → Parisian

– per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, which requires that it be "highly likely" that someone typing "Parisian" in the search box will be looking for the department store chain. That's just not the case; in fact, it's more likely that they will searching for the term that refers to someone who was born or raised in Paris. A google books or google news search proves this, with none of the first ten hits on either referring to the department stores. Jenks24 (talk) 00:32, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Possible inaccuracies, much needed citations under history…

Hi, can someone please properly cite a reliable and legitimate source to this or maybe this should be removed. “Parisian underwent a series of restructurings and mergers during its 130-year history, and was taken over by Proffit's, Inc. in 1996.” I don’t see any citations on this presently or other entries as well.
