There is a well-referenced article about the painter of this work at Upper Rhenish Master. It is referenced and of almost the same length as this one. I'm not really sure it warrants an article of its own, seeing as he is only known by moniker, and this work is the sole reason (and please correct me if I'm wrong) for his fame.
