- The story about Rolling Stone naming it Album of the Year is just urban legend, I think (though it's repeated in some versions of the CD liner notes). From what I understand Rolling Stone didn't even *have* an Album of the Year award at the time. 202.94.132.19 (talk) 16:59, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Okay. I've done a search through back issues of Rolling Stone on that Cover-to-Cover DVD package, and the Albums of the Year for 1970 were After the Gold Rush, Gasoline Alley, and Moondance. For 1971: Tapestry, What's Going On, Who's Next. Parachute isn't mentioned at all prior to Sept. 1973. I suppose that settles that. 113.41.250.106 (talk) 14:23, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
