Proposed merge with Palace Lantern
[edit]"Palace lantern" appears to be a subset of paper lantern styles. The articles are otherwise similar, down to using the same image as illustration. I propose a merger rather than deletion because palace lantern has somewhat more history content that could be added to paper lantern. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 09:49, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

- Support merge - as per nomination. Onel5969 TT me 12:00, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- Do Not Support merge The Palace Lantern is a particular and historically significant type of paper lantern with distinct connotations in Chinese culture. It has special relevance in Chinese history, architecture and art history that other types of paper lantern do not share. While it bears mention on the paper lantern page, and other, less historically important styles (like the more common Tomato Light style) are merely subsets, the Palace Lantern rightly merits distinction.
