Too short
[edit]This page is too short to guarantee its existence. Clean it up and make it a real article or delete and leave the one that is on the Ranma 1/2 Minor characters instead.
What's all this mess?
[edit]The pantyhose Taro section is better now, but why is Rogue here? And the fan belief of Rouge liking Pantyhose and viceversa has no place in here people (remember that in the manga he wanted her dead and she thought he was a vulgar and disgusting man), let's be objective and not wishing fanboys.
- Agreed, the article needs a lot of job and the template is horribly filled out as well and featrues lots of fanboyism statements, Rouge and the other girls don't really love Pantyhose.
- I agree it needs some work, but it's not that bad I'll try to work on this and the Rouge articles when I have the time, maybe next week if I'm not too busy. Facer 01:49, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]We need a new image, it's not cool that we're using the same one they have at Furinkan.com; somebody has a different one we could use?Facer 05:07, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, and could someone please put a picture of his cursed form in here too?, it would really help the pages appearance. Xer, 12 nov. 2006
Human Form
[edit]I noticed that this article says Pantyhose Taro's human form is weak, and I'm wonder why that's supposed to be true, when he completely destroyed Ranma in his Human Form at one point... The same point that said that he "Almost managed a draw against female Ranma." Did the person who wrote that actually read that part? Pantyhose Taro totaly dominated in that fight.
- In the first battle against male Ranma (vol 18, page 17) Taro was completely on the defensive until he changed into chimera form.
- And by "completely on the defensive", you mean "evaded Ranma's attacks, attacked back (with offence!), was hit at the ankle by a counterattack, and landed easily without any noticible damage". So, in other words, you are wrong, since he was not completely on the defensive at all.99.239.193.228 (talk) 17:31, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- To make a rundown of the second, Taro is initially strictly on the defensive against male Ranma, but tricks him into triggering a water-trap and change into his physically weaker female half. (page 87)
- To make a rundown of the second, Tarou goaded Ranma into attacking and dodged the attack, letting Ranma hit the cliff (pp 88). He does not in any way seem to be winded or expending much effort in defending himself. 99.239.193.228 (talk) 17:31, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- He taunts Ranma-chan that the entire area is filled with water-traps and enrages her to lose her composure and storm right into a kick. (page 88-89)
- Taro then tries to take the offensive and attack Ranma-chan, but she easily avoids his barrage, immediately jumps above, catches him with her feet and slams him to the ground, but triggers another water-trap. (page 89-90)
- In page 91 Ranma-chan is completely preoccupied with simply preventing Taro from changing and has tied him into a pretzel, trying to keep him away from the water-sprout, and is breathing heavily, having barely managed to do so in time.
- Taking his chance Taro uses his legs to slam her towards the ground, triggering another water-sprout. (page 91-92)
- He then twice pretends to enter water-traps to transform, to goad Ranma into sucker punches, while the latter is almost completely distracted and frantic. (page 92)
- He also during the same fight kicks Ranma out of the air without the use of water traps (pp 89).99.239.193.228 (talk) 17:31, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Taro is amused that Ranma is so easy to manipulate into free hits, and Ranma tries to think up a way to handle the fight under such extremely rigged circumstances. (page 93)
- Ranma is then shown panting, strictly keeping defensive out of fear to not trigger any traps, (page 96) until Taro angers her enough to briefly cut loose again, slamming him hard against a mountain without thinking about that she triggered yet another trap, transforming Taro. (page 98-99)
- During the 4 occasions when Ranma wasn't simply goaded into focusing on preventing Taro from changing, either through loosing her cool head and storming right into punches, being severely distracted, or afraid to attack and trigger more traps, he/she clearly severely dominated the confrontations. Taro, managed to keep it even in terms of hits due to extreme levels of cheating. Ranma also knocked out his human form with one punch, (page 129) but Taro-chimera had just been severely battered, so it doesn't count.
- It is completely incorrect to say Ranma ever dominated their confrontations, as the leaving out and/or misrepresentations above show. At best you can say he beat Ranma to a pulp while cheating (which is true), but that he also held his own when not cheating. They are also presented as equals when squabbling in human form in the latter half of the first story, and the Rouge story. Simply put, there is not enough data to make the argument as to exactly where he stands, other than the fact he's clearly a better match for Ranma than Mousse or Shampoo are. Saying anything else is basically wanking over which character you like better, it isn't objective in the slightest and shouldn't be in the article. But then, the whole article is really rather terribly biased.99.239.193.228 (talk) 17:31, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Beyond this Taro stated outright in the Rouge arc that, unlike Ranma, Ryoga and Mousse, he hasn't trained to get any stronger since, and has twice focused on effortless power-ups instead. So all in all the evaluation definitely seems valid enough. Dave 19:41, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, all he says is he didn't learn any new moves (and this is in the second arc; he never says anything about it in the Rouge arc; nor does he in any way compare himself to Ryouga or Mousse). Since he never uses ki blasts or other esoteric moves, that really doesn't mean anything other than the fact he'll take easy powerups when he can get them. If he didn't do any training, he wouldn't have been any match for Ranma in the first place; moreover, in the Rouge story, the entire story starts with him training (in human form) in the wilderness by lifting weights.99.239.193.228 (talk) 17:31, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
