Plagiarized?
[edit]This entry cites no source material for its claims and maintains a consistent style and voice throughout which shouldn't necessarily happen on a Wikipedia where editing is a collective function. I can only conclude that someone either cut and pasted this from another website and read it in a book and copied it here. If no one is willing to provide references for quotes and claims, I'd nominate this for deletion. 69.125.134.86 (talk) 00:47, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
New York New York
[edit]I'm not sure how much relevance this article has to the 99.9% of the human race who don't live in NYC. Probably none. 81.101.197.228 (talk) 19:34, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
Hoax
[edit]This whole thing seems to have been written as a joke — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.236.233.223 (talk) 18:25, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Neologism, and original research
[edit]Ngrams shows nothing for "pansy performers" and notes a single result for "pansy craze". Checking further, the term is a neologism invented by George Chauncey for his 1994 "Gay New York" book,[1], already present in the references in the article. All other uses (not many) refer to Chauncey. Being a neologism used by one author and not having picked up any steam, at a minimum, the article probably shouldn't have this title. Secondarily, it's a compilation of a number of mini-biographies, and it's not clear what the unifying subject of the article is. For starters, I've added an {{Unfocused}} tag to the rest of the issues, but it's way past time to list this for Afd. Mathglot (talk) 07:35, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
