Naming
[edit]Could someone clarify the part about San Benedetto? It is not clear when the article states, "he supposedly lived there in the 1500." Lived where... Argentina or Sicily? Also, it seems rather dubious as to whether the barrio being named after him is factual or legend. All the articles I could find have verbatim quotes as if they are all quoting each other with no original source material.
This is the historical sequence:
- Juan Domínguez Palermo -not Domingo- inherited this land from his father in law, one of the first spaniards who founded Buenos Aires with Juan de Garay (XVI century).
- In this barrio there was a chappel named after saint Benedict of Palermo, to whom slaves were devote (before 1813 or 1853, when slavery was avoided)
- The name of Juan Manuel de Rosas´quinta was "Palermo de San Benito" (first half of XIX century).
- The abbey is not franciscan, but benedictine, and it is named after saint Benedict of Nursia, not Palermo (XX century).

Too many images...
[edit]Hey you all, there are just too many images on many of Argentines articles, we should avoid sandwiching text between two images that face each other and limit Galleries with a huge amount of images! lets use {{Commons}} to link to more images on Commons wherever possible, too many images sometimes provoke havoc in some articles and/or monitors.
Please let's follow Wikipedia's Manual of Style for guidelines: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Images, lets keep Wikipedia and these articles Top-Notch – cheers - Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 16:45, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Proposed merge of Palermo, Argentina into Palermo, Buenos Aires
[edit]While the new article Palermo, Argentina speaks of it as a city outside of Buenos Aires, it's evident from the text and the sources themselves that it's the large portion of Buenos Aires that it's referring to, and we already have a large article, Palermo, Buenos Aires, about that.
