Added an additional photo which more clearly demonstrates this creature's namesake trait. Enziarro (talk) 21:32, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are a lot of sources listed by author and year, but not in proper wikipedia format and not linked to the resources as they should be. Aperium (talk) 17:18, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What species are commercially available?

[edit]

The disambiguation page for "ghost shrimp" lists palaemonetes as "small mostly transparent shrimp commonly sold for use in freshwater aquaria." While there are various species of ghost shrimp available at an aquatics pet store, they are certainly not all found in the aquarium trade. I seriously doubt you'd find P. antrorum commercially available. So, which species are used in the aquarium trade? Does anyone know? They are certainly bred en mass somewhere; pet stores are frequently restocked with the little buggers. Personally, I've identified two types of ghost shrimp found in local petstores, those with orange strips on its claws and antennae, and more commonly, those without any such markings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AzureATC (talkcontribs) 04:21, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
