Post 9/11 Troubles

[edit]

Since words like tax evasion and terrorism are such hot buttons I'd appeal for calm when working this issue. It is probably impossible for outsiders to know what merit there was the the accusations or the final settlement. It is difficult for people to remember the nature of the time when this happened. People a ways to go before consensus forms on how appropriate the post 9/11 actions were in general. This is certainly not the right venue for that discussion. I've restored a link, in the external links, to an apparently balanced article describing the incident. That link was removed as part of some edits to remove an inline description that was, ah, colorful. I'd hope that is sufficient. Bhyde (talk) 14:10, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's been in-article and edit summary disputes and lots of reverts. Arguments/comments added deleted on either side include:

{{Prone to spam|date=April 2013}} {{Z148}}<!-- {{No more links}}

DO NOT ADD LINKS TO DEALERS!!!

Please be cautious adding more external links.

Wikipedia is not a collection of links and should not be used for advertising.

Excessive or inappropriate links will be removed.

See Wikipedia:External links and Wikipedia:Spam for details.

If there are already suitable links, propose additions or replacements on the article's talk page, or submit your link to the relevant category at the Open Directory Project (dmoz.org) and link there using {{Dmoz}}.

Dealers are an inherent part of Page Plus Cellular and should not be excluded. Links to dealers are provided on PPC's front page and should therefore not be seen as spam here.
If dealers are listed on the PPC front page, then that seems reasonable to mention in the article. The linkspam isn't needed.

Again, see DMOZ!

Page Plus Cellular does not provide links to it's dealers on it's front page or any other page. They have a Dealers page where a person can input their location and find dealers near them on a map, however, maintain no listing on their site to online dealers, or even a listing of any dealers at all. In order for them to keep from promoting one dealer ahead of another they do not include these, and posting such links here is not appropriate since those links have no credible information regarding the company or it's history, aside from the plans available.

Tracfone Wireless currently owns and operates 10 different brands. Simple Mobile and Page Plus Cellular are the only two with their own Wiki page. I believe it would be best if both the Simple Mobile and Page Plus Cellular pages would be deleted. These pages don't contain much info, and their content is already included in their respective sub-section in the Tracfone Wireless Wiki article. It would just make things easier for the reader if none of these sub-brands had separate Wiki pages. Thanks.05:31, 19 November 2016 (UTC)Goldeneyed (talk)

Delete Page Plus Cellular page, redirect to Tracfone Wireless
