There is a current disagreement on the genres which should apply to this album. Under the AllMusic review here: https://www.allmusic.com/album/paegan-terrorism-tactics-mw0000080507 it states "Acid Bath's second album further establishes the band's unique Southern punk/sludge/goth metal hybrid" This at the very least would denote that the genre of Gothic Metal should also apply to this album (punk might be a bit of a stretch), as Acid Bath does hybrid multiple genres unto its albums. Southern punk isnt really something that exists (and sludge is already a combination of punk and metal so it would be redundant either way), so we only have sludge and goth metal. Since the vast majority of sources describe this album (and the band as a whole) as sludge metal we should just go with that and not give too much weight to fringe views like that of allmusic in this case. Gothic metal is probably an influence but if we include every single influence, we'd also have to add grunge, southern metal, industrial, death metal, stoner metal, and probably a bunch of other stuff as well which is obviously ridiculous --FMSky (talk) 16:01, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
